2015 Spring Trends

You know what’s the best part of spring months? Placing out the spring fashion trends we can actually wear in our everyday lives! Stores are already trying to get rid of their winter stock to make room for the spring 2015 fashion trends that everybody will be wearing. There is something for everyone this spring. Hats and heels are great, but everyday fashion is a hit also. Before you say “not for me,” you can scream out loud “let me try it on” From jeans that everyone wears, to shirtdresses that remind the Fifties, to fringe that brings out the Sixties, fashion for Spring 2015 breathes new life into old favorites. The Seventies will be the returning era. Get ready for a relaxed 70s vibe with soft flowery fabrics, suede and mildly swirling pants… lots of bohemian chic looks featuring flowery patterns, fringes and tassels, bell sleeves and flared trousers … plenty of denim, navy and blue in flowing dresses, skirts and jackets.

elle-nyfw-spring-2013-trends-orange-is-the-new-black-christian-siriano-dress-xln-xlnRunway Trend Report: Orange Is the New Black

We doubt the creators behind the addictive new Netflix series, Orange Is the New Black, realized they were predicting a major New York Fashion Week color moment when they dreamed up the show’s title. But they sure did—as the fiery hue has been spotted all over the spring 2014 ready-to-wear shows, making its way from the season’s It lip to its clothes, bags, and shoes.

DIY New Years Eve

New Years Eve has always been one of my favorite holidays. Before I had my baby, it was because I could do all the partying I wanted and then miraculously on January 1st, I would instantly become motivated. I would work out more and eat less junk food. I would meditate more and shop less. I would swear off drinking and partying. This usually lasted a few weeks and then it was back to normal.

Even after my baby, New Years is still one of my favorites. We all change from our fancy clothes to our pajamas and we cuddle up on the couch to watch the countdown. Some of us will fall asleep (ok, probably all of us) and we will jump when we hear the ball drop. We will eat sandwiches and will toast with cider instead of champagne. The next day, we will all meet at the bookstore to pick up our new books for the year – a tradition my boyfriend’s family has held since he was a little, and have now invited me to join.

In case you are hoping that your New Years Eve will be a little more eventful than mine, I have a few great party ideas to share.

Homemade Holidays: Thanksgiving Recipe, Decor and Craft

Can you believe that Thanksgiving is tomorrow?! Where has the time gone? Judging by all the texts going on between my family members, none of us are really prepared! If you are still wondering what you’re going to make/take to your Thanksgiving dinner…here are are a few options!

Recipe:

This recipe from Cherished Bliss looks rather harmless as it only has four ingredients, and I imagine it tastes a lot better than that canned stuff! It only takes about 15 minutes to make, so if you are hosting the dinner, do it about an hour before everyone gets there so it has some time to cool down. If you are a guest this year, it would be a perfect present to bring the host(ess). Cherished Bliss is a food and craft blog, and they have a lot of fun recipes and DIY crafts to check out!

Decor:

This is a simple DIY from Design*Sponge and all you need is some marbled paper, an empty paper towel roll, some mod podge and Krylon Crystal Clear spray! If you are fancy and have cloth napkins at your Thanksgiving dinner, these will be the perfect addition. I have followed Grace Bonney and Design*Sponge for a while, and I have to say that I want to do every DIY I see on there. She also has a budget and difficulty indicator!

Have some mini pumpkins lying around from Halloween? This easy and cute kiddo DIY from Spark and Chemistry will keep your little one(s) entertained while you get everything ready! Just try to do it before their shower so you can clean off the permanent marker! These will be cute to have around your house, or to give to the host(ess) as a Thank You gift for hosting! Spark and Chemistry is a diy blog with lots of good style, craft and party inspiration to share!

Do you have any last minute Thanksgiving decor, recipes and crafts you want to share? Post in the comments and share with us on Facebook! Amanda Branham is a stay-at-home mom who also blogs about her adventures in domestication at from house parties to housewife.

Seasonal Changing In Handbags by Jeannie Stylist

“Seasonal Changing In Handbags”
Hello my dear fashionistas! I have a confession to make. I have a love affair with handbags. In other
words, if a Handbags Anonymous (HA) organization existed, then believe me darlings, I would be there!
LOL.

Meet Jeannie Stylist

Jeannie  grew up in Jacksonville, Florida and  loved  the beach.  Her  hobbies are reading, swimming and scrap booking. She  also enjoys entertaining for her girlfriends with garden tea parties. Though her husband and herself don’t have any children, they do have a beagle named Twinkles!  (Sometimes she dresses  her up as a little fashionista) lol. The first thing that got her started in fashion was when she was a little girl and she would play with Barbies with her sister (back in the 70s. She is now 43). If  they  behaved, their mother would take them  down to the local Kmart on Saturday mornings, and let each of them  pick out a Barbie outfit. Then in high school,

Every woman dreams of the perfect wedding.  From the dress, to the floral arrangements, the food, the music, and the venue; all a bride wants is her guests walking away from her wedding with an experience they will remember for a lifetime.  That is why it is so important to get creative, and throw unique personality into a wedding.  For spring 2012, there are so many ways to get creative.  Here in Savannah, Georgia, we have no shortage of creativity!

Perhaps the biggest influence on wedding dress this year is the example of the royal wedding.  Prince William and Kate Middleton were a stunning example of how to keep a wedding classic, elegant, and beautiful. Continue reading
